Cozy Christmas Coloring Pages to Print

There is a particular kind of December evening I love. The lights are low, something is simmering, and there is a coloring page in front of me with a tiny round Santa on it. If that sounds like your idea of a good night too, this one is for you.

Here is what makes a Christmas page cozy instead of cluttered, a few ideas to color, and where to grab some to print at home.

What makes a Christmas page actually cozy

Plenty of festive coloring pages are busy to the point of stressful. Tiny snowflakes everywhere, dense patterns, no room to breathe. That is the opposite of cozy.

The ones that feel like a hug share a few traits.

  • Rounded, friendly shapes. A chubby snowman, a round little reindeer, a gingerbread house with soft edges.
  • Big, simple subjects. One clear character with a few props around it, not a wall of detail.
  • Bold outlines. Thick lines hold your color in place and forgive a cozy, slightly sleepy hand.
  • Warm little details. A tiny scarf, a mug of cocoa, a string of round lights, a sleeping cat by the tree.

When a page has those, it feels gentle to color, which is the whole reason you sat down.

Cozy Christmas things to color

If you want ideas to look for (or print), here are the ones that feel best on a winter night.

Sweet and warm

  • A mug of cocoa with marshmallows and a happy face
  • A plate of gingerbread cookies
  • A candy cane with a little bow
  • A frosted cupcake with a holly leaf

Round festive friends

  • A chubby kawaii Santa
  • A reindeer with a red nose and a scarf
  • A snowman with stick arms and rosy cheeks
  • A penguin in a tiny hat

Cozy scenes

  • A decorated tree with round ornaments
  • A cat curled up under the tree
  • A window with snow outside and a candle inside
  • A stack of wrapped presents with bows

You do not need to color a whole winter wonderland. One cozy mug of cocoa is a perfect evening.

How to color them so they feel calm

A couple of small things make the session nicer.

  • Pick a soft, warm palette. Cream, soft red, sage green, dusty blue, gold. Gentle colors keep it cozy instead of loud.
  • Limit to four or five colors. Fewer decisions, more calm.
  • Use marker friendly paper or a scrap sheet behind the page so nothing bleeds onto the next design. If you want the full rundown, here are my marker tips for no bleed-through.

A small holiday ritual worth keeping

Coloring is one of those quiet things that takes you outside your own head for a while, and the holidays can use a little of that. Twenty screen-free minutes with a warm drink and a cute page is a small gift to yourself in a busy month. It is also a lovely thing to do with someone, side by side, no conversation required.

If you want the reasons it helps, I wrote about how 20 minutes of coloring calms your mind. For more gentle subjects, here are cute things to color when you're stressed.

Where to get cozy pages to print

To get you started tonight, I keep a free set of hand drawn kawaii pages you can print at home. They are desserts rather than strictly Christmas, but cocoa, cupcakes, and cute round treats are very much in the cozy-winter spirit. Grab the free pages here.

And if you want a whole book of cozy festive scenes for the season, my Cozy Kawaii Christmas book is on the way for this winter. See my books on Amazon here. Round little Santas, sleepy reindeer, snug scenes, all with the bold outlines that make them easy and forgiving to color.

Make a cocoa, dim the lights, color one cozy thing. That is a good December evening.

Happy coloring,
Emma
